COVID is Hard On Dogs, Too!!
Since people cannot go out often because of the infectious corona virus, a number of dog owners are deeply concerned about how and when they should walk their dogs. Moreover, unlike other animals like cats and guinea pigs, it is essential to take dogs for a walk often so this problem got bigger and bigger. Then, what would be a good and safe way to walk dogs? What can help the dogs to be happy indoors? Many #dogs are gaining weight and getting stressed out because they aren’t able to go for a walk like they did normally. The most effective and indisputable solution for this difficult situation is to let them have fun at home.It may sound easy and obvious, but we all know this is going to be really helpful-so, why not try? The first solution is ‘nosework’. Nosework is a dog sport created to mimic professional detection dog tasks.Start off by allowing your dog to watch you hide the scent. Place a food or a toy in one of the containers you have. Then say, “find it!” and release your dog to start the hunt. When your dog finds it, you'll praise your dog and give them another treat. This reduces the chance of a dog being depressed or stressed while staying indoors because your dog can keep thinking and smelling. The second solution is to play tug-of-war. Many dogs love to play tug of war; it's a healthy display of their predatory nature. Tug of war provides great mental and physical exercise for your dog, so don’t let them feel bored and make beautiful memories at home with them through this activity. Finally, we have reached our last solution-taking a walk when there aren’t many people. This means less chance to encounter people which is safer for you and your dog. Although we can’t go out as freely as we used to, but at times like this, we should try to live more positively and hopefully.Always remember, when owners are happy, dogs are happy!
