Earth Day!

Official Earth day Photo credit: Jennifer Eliot The official date of Earth day 2017 was April 22nd, and this year’s theme was Environmental & Climate Literacy! Building environmental and climate literacy is important because it works on educating people on the issue of climate change and its unprecedented threat. “Environmental and climate literacy is the engine not only for creating green voters and advancing environmental and climate laws and policies but also for accelerating green technologies and jobs.” says earthday.org . AES doing something special! Education for awareness is being done all across the world, and AES did something special for Earth day as well! For a majority of last week, middle school students created a poster, written poem or media art to communicate their compassion for the environment and raise public awareness. Photo credit: Ms. Cullen Friday was a special day though,  we had our own Earth day march with the earth day posters we created. Earth day is over, but that doesn’t mean we can stop thinking about our earth. The urgency to fight for clean environment is rising every day. Together we can all build a better, more sustainable world. #Earthday #8thGrade #7thGrade #6thGrade #AwESome
