Harry Potter week!
Just like in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s stone all the 7th grade was able to celebrate with a Harry Potter week. We enjoyed AES like hogwarts as we did fun activities. I think it was a great opportunity to celebrate our hard work with Harry Potter and also I think it is a great time to appreciate our teachers and helpers from the makerspace that are giving us this time to enjoy fun The week was filled with activities to keep us busy. We enjoyed making wands of all kinds in The Owlery aka The Makerspace. From the Freeze Wand to the Elder Wand 2.0, the creativity was bursting in the Makerspace. We showed our symbols of our house and ourselves on a T-shirt with a creative way involving an iron and crayons. Seriously how could you think of showing a symbol on a T-shirt with an iron and crayons! We also spent a whole day on anti bullying to show how it happens around the world and what it has to do with Harry Potter. Did you know that: Burger King made an an experiment where they would hire actors to bully a person and they also would “bully”(punch it) a burger. 95% of the customers stood up (complained) for their burger and 12% stood up for the kid being bullied. That wasn’t the end though because we also made our own mirror of erised that showed our heart’s desire. We had a nice time to reflect and flow out our creativity. To finalise we watched the epic movie of Harry Potter to finish our incredible celebration week All of this needs to be appreciated to all the adults working behind the scenes preparing and buying the materials for Harry Potter week. We should show gratitude to all of the staff in the makerspace. Round applause to Ms Cullen, Ms Ahuja, Mr. Kumar, Mr. Chugh and Mr Soni for making everything happen in Harry Potter week. It was great to get away from our normal week and to do something different and exciting. Like Albus Dumbledore says “Happiness can be found even in the darkest of times, all you need to do is simply turn on the light”
