    Exit Interviews: Dr. Frazier

Photo by Dr.Frazier CC/BY It is the end of the school year which means that we will soon have to say goodbye to a few of our favorite teachers. This year, 13 middle school teachers are leaving or moving out of the middle school. Over the final weeks of school, The Direct Message will post an ‘Exit Interview’ that we conducted with each of these educators. Battle of the Books: Competing in Reading?

Battle of the books has begun, and students are beginning to read. For those of you who don't know what battle of the books is, it's where groups of 4-5 read ten books together in 4 months. The student will compete with other schools such as International school Dahaka, ACS, and a couple more. Then students then will answer questions about the books they read and see who is the top team. This event will be held online. Battle of the books pushes students to their limits and h

    Keeping up with the quarter-shians

This quarter has been a very challenging and exciting time. There are many highlights that we can go back to. For example, strings classes have given performances, artwork has been displayed around the school and students have held their own ASA’s. This quarter the string class has been thriving. They have given performances left and right, “I had performances at the Holi and international festival and had performances in assembly as well,” shared Mrs. V. Mrs. V has also trie

    Disappearance of POP project

The POP project was the biggest project in 8th-grade for many years. The project was about the general social issues in India, with students researching their interests in these topics. Over the last 10+ years, the POP project started each January, but it is now the end of February, and 8th graders haven’t heard that they will do the POP project. Based on the reputation of the POP project (it was apparently quite difficult!), maybe we shouldn’t be so curious, but 8th graders

    What in the WOW!?

Many students have been wondering what happened to the WOW trip. Others don’t even know what a WOW trip is. And since we have not had a WOW since November of 2019, most people are wondering if we will even have a WOW trip this year either. The good news is that WOW is being planned for the week of March 7-11th. The trips will be different this year from in the past, but they will still try to meet the same objectives. WOW stands for Week withOut Walls. WHY DO WE HAVE WOW? PUR

Opinion: Back to Campus is Best

As winter break has come to an end, we are slowly transitioning back into our old school routines, well at least partly. With online school the first few weeks of the new semester, we can all agree that our schedule is different. Staying in our pj’s all day, little focus in class, waking up five minutes before the Zoom starts, it's been a change. Fortunately, we are coming back to school on Monday and this is absolutely the correct decision. Teachers are very excited about th
