It is that time of year again: The AES March Madness Challenge.
What is March Madness?
March Madness is a basketball tournament between universities organized by the NCAA (National Collegiate Athletic Association), it involves 68 college basketball teams and is a single-elimination tournament (if a team loses a match they are out).
How does March Madness work?
There are seven rounds in the tournament. The first round has 64 teams and half are eliminated. That leaves 32 teams to play and half of those teams are eliminated as well. The remaining teams play in what is called “The Sweet 16”.
The Sweet 16 teams play with half being eliminated, leading to “The Elite 8”. The winners of the Elite 8 games go to “The Final Four”. The Final Four is extremely prestigious because it means those are the only four teams left playing college basketball 2018. The two winners of the Final Four go to the championship game to determine the NCAA Champion.

Every team that you pick correctly scores you points and each round is worth more points than the next. You don’t need to know anything about basketball to play!
