I'm sure you are aware of the roof collapse at Ambiance Mall a couple of weeks ago. On Monday, March 4th, 2024, the ceiling of Ambiance Mall in Vasant Kunj collapsed at 12:45 am. Debris was seen falling onto escalators and railings below. Luckily, no one was injured in the incident as the mall was empty aside from some workers. One of the causes for this collapse seems to be connected to maintenance work on a false ceiling. The mall remained closed and was blocked off from the public while the damage was assessed. According to the Times of India, the mall was temporarily closed for repairs of the false ceiling.
As of today, the false roof has been repaired, but the damage from the collapse is still visible. There are gaps in the ceiling, and it doesn't look very stable. Compared to its condition before the incident, a tarp has been put up, to possibly prevent debris from spreading in the case of another collapse (images below).
Despite the scare, the mall is bustling with activity and people can once again enjoy their favorite shops. This incident is why you should be aware of your surroundings and prioritize safety.
