Beijing Winter Olympics Start Tomorrow!

Writer's picture: ChloeChloe

The 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics start tomorrow from February 4 until February 20. While most sports begin after the opening ceremony, a few including ice hockey and curling have already started. Over 80 countries are participating in sports such as figure skating, bobsled, speed skating, skeleton, snowboarding,

and more.

COVID-19 Still Has An Impact

Unfortunately, due to COVID-19, foreigners cannot attend and tickets are not on sale to the general public. However, some spectators can be invited to the games as long as they follow COVID-19 guidelines. While vaccination is not mandatory, Beijing has applied stricter rules than the Tokyo Olympics.

Where Can You Watch The Olympics?

If you are interested, the games can be viewed live on the official olympics website or on cable tv. Make sure to check out the Biathlon, Skeleton, and Bobsled! The Biathlon is a mix of cross-country skiing and rifle shooting! Bobsledding is a team sport where 4 athletes in a streamlined sled make timed runs in twisty ice tracks. All are fast and intense sports to watch, especially the skeleton, which is the most dangerous (and fun) sport in the Olympics. Enjoy the games!
