It is the end of the school year which means that we will soon have to say goodbye to a few of our favorite teachers. This year, 7 middle school teachers are leaving and over the next 7 school days, The Direct Message will post an ‘Exit Interview’ that we conducted with each of these educators.

What will you miss most about AES?
This is a hard one to answer. I will miss the positive attitude and kindness of the entire community: students, faculty and staff and parents.
What is the best part about being a teacher at AES?
Working with truly wonderful students and teachers.
What are your plans for next year and what are your thoughts about this next step?
I will be the MS Librarian at the International School of Bangkok. I am looking forward to revitalizing myself and being able to focus on Middle School.
How do you hope your students and colleagues will remember you? I
hope they remember me as a caring person who loved my job.
What message would you like to leave for the community at AES?
India and AES is a very special place, make the very most of your time here.

What will you remember about this teacher?
Even though Ms. Kehe is a librarian, I’ll always remember her constant love for books. She’d always come to book club meetings ready to talk about things she noticed as a reader. And these things she noticed? Not not many people did. I’ll always remember her with a big stack of books in her arms, coming into class excited to share a new book she thought we could read as a club. Her taste was pretty great too. Not one book was like the other. I even found a few top books on my list thanks to her.
What is a funny or memorable story that you have about this teacher?
I don’t have a specific moment, but every time I got to be with Ms. Kehe, my desire for reading grew (and so did my Goodreads ‘Want to Read’ shelf).
What makes this teacher unique?
As I said again, just her love for reading. I haven’t gotten to know her very well, but in the times I’ve gotten the chance to meet her, I’ve never met anyone so attached to books as her. She’d always have a list of books to recommend to others. I think she’s very close to reading all the books in the library at least once. I wouldn’t be surprised if she already has.

What will you remember about this teacher?
I will remember Mrs. Kehe as an awesome librarian and a great help to my school works such as the Mini POP: Exploitation essay. Mrs. Kehe and her library team helped out a lot in terms of information and organization in my essay which made everything in my work easier.
What is a funny or memorable story that you have about this teacher?
One funny moment was when our humanities class were the guinea pigs of these new chromebook laptops and so when it was time to work, Mrs. Kehe thought that we would use the macbooks that was infront of us.
What makes this teacher unique?
Mrs. Kehe is unique to me because she is one of those people who you don’t see a lot but can be a big help to your work. I am thankful that she was our librarian, how she handled the library and other situations in a calm way.

What will you remember about this teacher?
I will remember how in 6th and 7th Grade, our Humanities and Science class went to the library where Ms. Kehe would explain how to use NoodleTools, how to cite sources, and how to find and use reliable sources.
What is a funny or memorable story that you have about this teacher?
A funny story I have with Ms. Kehe is in 6th Grade WOW, when her room was right below our room. We were supposed to sleep by 9, but my friends and I stayed up way after after that, until about 11. None of us thought that the teacher downstairs could hear us, but around 11, Ms. Kehe came up knocking on our door, asking what we were doing. My friends and I were so scared and surprised, that we flung ourselves into bed and pretended to be sleeping. But Ms. Kehe knew that we weren’t sleeping, and persistently kept knocking on our door. In the end, my friends and I gave in, opening the door to let in a sleepy Ms. Kehe.
What makes this teacher unique?
Ms. Kehe is unique because she, unlike anyone else in the whole school, knows so much about the library, and knows all about the books that are in it.
