Wow 6

All of the WOW trips were amazing, but we have to admit that the 6th graders had a pretty nice trip to Jim Corbett park. Who wouldn’t enjoy bathing elephants, hiking, going on a river walk, visiting a village and painting, enjoying team building activities, going on a 7 hour bus ride, wait… let me start from the beginning.

It all started at 4:00 am in the gym with bleary-eyed 6th graders. They were all ready to see if their friends would be in their travel group, even though they were soon to find out that that wouldn’t really matter.

They were split into two camps – Ms. Gulati and Mr. Nielsen, and then those two camps were split into two other groups. Through the bumpy roads they went talking, singing, telling scary stories, sleeping (probably the best part if you managed to), trying to not to vomit and looking outside as the city faded away to Uttarpradesh.

One of the buses went to a hotel named the Ramganga, and the others went to The Den. Two amazing resorts where everyone enjoyed from team building activities and a pool! Once everyone arrived feeling sick but excited, everyone got into their group activities. Afterwards everything just went to amazing activities, connecting with nature, and meeting people that they hadn’t met before.

The truth is that 6th grade wow cannot be explained. It cannot be put into words and the only time I can explain is when I see the pictures of the fun and connecting with nature and people. It was what it was and it was one of the most exciting time of the year for all 6th graders.
