    Cricket Pick-it Challenge (Week 4)

It’s week four of the Cricket Pick-it Challenge and there were nail-bitting games during the weekend such as the Sunrisers Hyderabad game against Delhi Daredevils at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Hyderabad. Hyderabad needed only 1 run in 2 balls and the skipper Kane Williamson of Sunrisers Hyderabad was on strike as Delhi’s Daniel Christian bowled a fast ball. The ball hits the edge of Kane’s nat and goes past square leg,  giving Kane a chance to run and f

Tottenham’s First Win at Stamford Bridge in 28 Years!

April 1st 2018, the Premier League’s most hyped up match of the week. Tottenham Hotspur F.C. vs Chelsea F.C. took place at Chelsea’s home ground, Stamford Bridge, in London. Pictures of players training from both teams circled around the internet as a ‘sneak peak’ before the match. Chelsea manager Antonio Conte was asked during a pre-match press conference about why he was looking forward to the game: “We’re talking about a really good team, a really good manager, many talent

    Wow 6

Photo credit: Ms Cullen All of the WOW trips were amazing, but we have to admit that the 6th graders had a pretty nice trip to Jim Corbett park. Who wouldn’t enjoy bathing elephants, hiking, going on a river walk, visiting a village and painting, enjoying team building activities, going on a 7 hour bus ride, wait… let me start from the beginning. Photo credit: Ms Cullen. It all started at 4:00 am in the gym with bleary-eyed 6th graders. They were all ready to see if their fri

    Bear Camp WOW 7

Photo Credit: Camp Sava WOW was a wonderful experience, and Bear Camp was a great part of it – tenting, swimming in the river, visiting a school on top of a mountain, Himalayan river walk, s’mores and making natural art. The first day we arrived at Bear Camp we sat down under an open tent, drank some juice and were introduced to Simon and TB,our camp guides. The activities started the morning we arrived, we walked about a kilometer to a bridge and waited and waited and waited

    WOW 8 Rafting!

The eighth grade gathered together at the front of AES at 4:30 in the morning to leave for Rishikesh. Rishikesh is home to one of the most important ritual sites in all of India – The Ganga, which also boasts a great rafting experience. The most anticipated WOW in all of Middle School is surely the 8th grade trip since it contains three days of hardcore rafting. The first day is easy rapids to get us warmed up, and working together as a team. The next day is harder, but the f

Reasons to not be nervous about WOW

Everyone is nervous about their first WOW trip, I know I was. But you shouldn’t feel nervous. After all, everyone in your grade will be new to your grade’s WOW trip. You are about to spend five days away from home, parents, pets. Sure, that can be a little scary. But… 6th Grade Photo credit: Maureen Cullen 7th Grade 8th Grade You also get to stay with your friends and you get you be away from your annoying siblings — it can’t get any better. If you feel that you won’t be able

    WOW partner problem?

Are you excited for WOW? I am! Last week in the Middle School MPR, the 7th grader teachers told us all about WOW. Excitement was literally flowing through the MPR. In that moment, all 7th graders were happy. Well, maybe not all because there seems to be a potential problem . . . students had to pick four 7th graders to be in the same group at WOW. It’s possible that somebody may be left out. Everybody was literally running to their friends to ask them if they were going to pi

Mesac or WOW: Do I Have To Choose?

Ask any 8th grader, and they will tell you that WOW is the best week of the year. For most, there is almost nothing that would get in the way of going on that trip. MESAC, however, isn’t nothing. This year, WOW leaves on Sunday, October 29 and returns the afternoon of Thursday, September 2. The dates for WOW were set last school year and cannot be changed. MESAC Volleyball and Swimming were originally scheduled to leave on the morning of Wednesday, September 1. Notice anythin
